Scouting for Boys

Ok let us first of all get all the sniggers and innuendo of the title out the way…

Done? Ok - we shall begin…

Scouting for Boys is the foundation book of the Scout Movement.

Ofcourse attitudes and society has changed much since the first articles appeared in six fortnightly parts in 1908.

Written [and illustrated] by the founding father of scouting Robert Baden - Powell.

The book it became has been revised  over the years ofcourse - but not the core values, and the fact that a Scout should and is proud of being a Scout.

My copy from 1991 has ofcourse been edited from the original text , as each edition has as social attitudes change. The halfling project will compare and contrast these changes.

Within the halfling project we shall look at modern scouting with pride for what it has become, and for what it achieves for every generation.

No longer a single sex movement it remains a solid foundation for it’s membership  of “Good Citizenship”
